Accrington Stanley striker Paul Mullin has refused Peter Cavanagh’s offer to be captain on the day he breaks Stanley’s appearance record.

Cavanagh had offered Mullin the captain’s armband for his 362nd appearance in the Red of Accrington Stanley, but Mullin kindly reufsed him saying he wanted to concentrate on the game.

Mullin equaled the Stanley appearance record on Monday at hartlepool. Chris Grimshaw had the previous record of 361 appearances, and when Mullin starts today he will be making history.

Come On Stanley!
