Peter Murphy has said that Accrington are fighting tooth and nail for survival and they won’t stop until that final whistle goes.

Speaking to the Official Site the right back said of the recent York draw, his suspected broken nose and his equaliser in the game.

‘We refuse to stop until that whistle tells us to stop. We always keep going right to the end of every game. A bloody nose is not going to stop me playing. I did not want to come off and I was delighted to get that goal and that point for the team.’

Murphy’s last gasp equaliser was the third time in as many matches that we have drawn level in stoppage time, and he believes it typifies the attitude within the camp at the moment.

‘I thought we put them under pressure towards the end and eventually pressure tells. You know you are always going to get one chance and we put it away. We never got going in the first half, never took responsibility and took on board what we were doing wrong. The manager told us in no uncertain terms what we needed to do at half time and we really gave it a go. The last two games had showed that we could score late and we just had to believe in ourselves. It could prove to be a very important point.’

Murphy also knows our fate is in our own hands, and we need to believe in ourselves in the coming games and do everything we can to keep clawing ourselves away from the danger zone.
