ACCRINGTON Stanley defender Chris King has agreed a new contract with the Crown Ground club, which will run until January, when the situation will be re-assessed.

King, 29, made 27 appearances for the Reds last season and became a strong link in the side, but missed parts of the campaign through injury after joining from Welsh Premier League side The New Saints (TNS or to give them their full title, The New Saints of Oswestry Town & Llansantffraid Football Club).

* IN other news, Leeds United defender Tom Lees is still on course to sign on loan for Accrington Stanley, but after picking up a knock in training, the deal has been slightly delayed.
