ACCRINGTON Stanley captain Peter Cavanagh has this morning been ruled out of action for up to a month following an Achilles injury picked up against Bradford City two weeks ago.
Cavanagh was due to miss the Luton Town clash at Kenilworth Road last week due to a one match suspension brough on by five yellow cards in five games for the former Liverpool trainee. But now a troublesome Achilles injury is threatening to rule out the skipper until the end of November.
Stanley gaffer John Coleman told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It`s a big blow losing Cav. He`s our captain and he`s very instrumental in our pattern of play. It`s a blow but we`ve got players who can cover.”
Meanwhile Colin Murdock is set to step back into the Reds’ starting 11 for the game against Wycombe Wanderers at the Fraser EAGLE Stadium on Saturday afternoon to replace Phil Edwards who is doubtful after requiring eight stitches to his leg in midweek.
