The first round draw for the FA Cup took place earlier tonight and Accrington Stanley have been given a trip to Meadow Lane to face Notts County.

County are flying high in League One so far this season under manager Shaun Derry and skipper Luke Joyce admitted to the Official Site that it was hardly the best draw for Accrington but he knows it will be a good test and on a personal level his only goal in the FA Cup actually came at Meadow Lane back in 2011.

‘It did come in the 4-1 defeat when we played them in the first round back in 2011, but at least I have scored at Meadow Lane.’

Joyce goes on to say that everybody was hoping for a home draw and a few of the lads ‘were cursing’ Phil Neville when the balls came out, but he knows it will be a good test and it’ll be a long time reunion with County.

‘We will do our best and we will be aiming to shock them. There is no reason why we can’t cause a cup upset.’

The game is yet to be set properly but it’s expected it will take place in the weekend beginning November 7.
