Accrington Stanley earlier today announced that striker Kayode Adejayi has returned to the club on loan from Rotherham United until the end of the season.

The striker had obviously been on loan with us previously this season, and that spell ended in December and both the gaffer James Beattie and the player himself hoped for a return in January and that has now been sown up.

In his last spell Kayode made 11 appearances and scored 4 goals, and he’ll no doubt be hoping to add to that significantly during the second half of the campaign.

Speaking to the Official Site after the new deal was announced, Odejayi joked that he had to think about it for all of about 0.2 seconds.

‘I enjoyed my first spell here and got on really well with everyone, from the fans to the staff and players and it just felt right to come back and see through what we started earlier in the season.’

He adds that prior to today’s game against Fleetwood the lads had only lost once in the last run of four games and he felt that this would stand us in good stead going into 2014, and although today’s result wasn’t wanted, he would have been delighted to have got straight back into the first team and shook off what ever cobwebs he felt he may have had having not played since our game against Northampton.

Hopefully he can kick on again now and of course although it was a consolation, grabbing a goal on his return to the starting line up would’ve done wonders for his confidence.
