THINK you’ve missed a bit of Accrington Stanley news throughout the last week? Well here is everything you need to know…

Two former players find new clubs

RELEASED striker Lee McEvilly and midfielder Shaun Whalley have both penned new contracts with their new respective Blue Square Premier clubs.

McEvilly who spent most of last season on-loan with Cambridge United, has joined the club on a permanent basis, whilst Whalley will be turning out for relegated side Wrexham next term.

Confusion over Carden

MIDFIELDER Paul Carden, who only joined Accrington Stanley last summer has left the club to join Cambridge United as a Player-Coach. But the move is highly controvercial, as the 29-year-old had apparently penned a contract as Player-Assistant Manager with Wrexham the week before.

Carden only turned out four times in the famous red of Stanley, before injuries plagued his stay at the Fraser Eagle Stadium and he eventually ended up on loan at Cambridge.

He leaves for an undisclosed fee.

Chester snap up midfield duo

CHESTER City have snapped up former Accrington Stanley midfield duo Jay Harris and David Mannix following their releases from the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

Chester’s move for Stanley target Anthony Barry has been thrown into turmoil though, as the club have failed to pay players’ wages, and this is concerning the player and his agent.
