17 years after leaving Accrington Stanley for the bright lights of Blackpool, Brett Ormerod has returned to the club to take in some pre season training.

The 27 year old is currently a free agent after leaving Conference side Wrexham over the summer, and having received an invitation to return to the club for training, he’s duly accepted.

It’s being reported that it’s simply a friendly offer to a former player, and discussions about a potential deal covering the new season have not taken place – at least as of yet – but you”d imagine it’s something manager James Beattie will consider depending on what he trains like, and of course given how he integrates with the group in his short spell for us.

We are also being tentatively linked with goalkeeper Cameron Belford, who has a loan spell with us back in the 2012-13 season, and he himself is a free agent following his release by Tamworth this summer.
