FORMER Blackburn Rovers midfielder Mark Patterson has today returned to Accrington Stanley, not as a player though, this time in an unpaid coaching role with the first team.
Patterson, 44, now retired from professional football, enjoyed a brief spell with the Reds towards the end of his playing career and is now back at the Crown Ground.
First team coach Pablo Asensio has now left the club and so Patterson – previously the manager of Chorley, Darwen, Leigh RMI and Scarborough – will primarily help out the club’s assistant manager Jimmy Bell with matchday tasks.
“He`s a good lad and he has a lot of experience,” said gaffer John Coleman speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph.
