ACCRINGTON Stanley’s home match against Shrewsbury Town is going to undergo a Friday morning pitch inspection after the recent sub zero temperatures and heavy snow fall in the town.
The pitch at the Crown Ground has got covers on, but the main problem is the surrounding areas of the ground which are covered with snow and ice making it dangerous for travelling supporters.
Cheif Executive Rob Heys says the club will do everything they can to get the game on and plans are in place to remove a thick layer of snow that is currently lying on the pitch.
A decision will be made tomorrow morning, but I personally would say that the game won’t be going ahead, especially with temperatures in East Lancashire dropping to around -9 over night.
