ACCRINGTON Stanley’s game against Crewe Alexandra will be subject to a Thursday morning pitch inspection, as the Crown Ground playing surface still sits under a blanket of snow.
The Reds are meant to face Crewe on Boxing Day in East Lancashire, but the recent freezing temperatures and heavy snow fall to hit the country have put the game under threat.
Football League officials are keen on getting an early decision so that supporters disruption is kept to an absolute minimum over the christmas period.
Accrington is forecast to have a further snow fall in the early hours of Thursday morning, which looks set to simply add to the lying snow and ice, in and around the ground.
Vital Stanley will as always keep you up to date, but once again it isn’t looking too positive for the game to go ahead.
