ACCRINGTON Stanley have just over an hour to rush through a potential transfer move for Nigerian striker Alex Akande.

The transfer deadline for permanent deals is 6pm on Tuesday evening, leaving the club with an hour to scramble through paperwork for a work permit and get international clearance from the Football League.

“We found out about him through his agent and invited him over,” said assistant manager Jimmy Bell speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph.

“He did really well against Preston reserves, but we don`t know if we`ll be able to sign him.”

The 21-year-old had been on trial with the Reds, but had returned to his home in Hong Kong.
