LEAM Richardson has penned a new one-year contract with Accrington Stanley, to keep the former Blackpool man at The Crown Ground until the end of the season.

Richardson, 30, had a poor season last time out, as he was forced to sit on the sidelines for most through injury.

John Coleman offered the defender a pay as you play contract in the close season, but Richardson took his time on the deal as he looked to see if any clubs were prepared to offer a fixed contract.

‘Leam’s agreed a deal and he can play numerous postions including midfield.’ said Stanley gaffer Coleman.

Leam will now be available for selection as Stanley take on Macclesfield Town in East Lancashire next Saturday.
