In a interview with the Charlton Athletic official site following his re-call Rob Elliot said he was glad to back back at Charlton, but insisted he enjoyed his spell in Lancashire.

‘To be honest, it’s good to be back,” said Rob. ‘I missed the quality of the coaching and the facilities and hopefully I can get straight back into the reserves.

‘Overall my time at Accrington was a great experience. Things didn’t go quite according to plan for me this season but last season was fantastic and I’m sure I’ve improved my game.”

Ian Dunbavin had taken Elliot’s spot in the first 11 this season, even though Elliot was named Stanley player of the year, in the Promotion winning season.
