FORMER Accrington Stanley midfielder Gary Roberts yesterday signed for Coca-Cola League One side Huddersfield for an undisclosed fee from Championship boys Ipswich Town.
The 24-year-old who made 33 appearances for Ipswich following his switch from the Fraser Eagle Stadium is thought to have moved in a deal worth around £250,000.
He moved to Ipswich Town on loan from Accrington Stanley in October 2006, impressing enough to earn a permanent four-year deal in January 2007, but found himself on the transfer list this summer.
Accrington Stanley manager had wanted to bring Roberts back to East Lancashire but it didn’t work out that way.
“Gary is an extremely good player, whose preferred position is on the left wing, but can play elsewhere,” Huddersfield manager Stan Ternent said.
“I expected big things from him, as he is a talented lad.”

Thought the same myself, suprised we didn’t. I think we did it with Craney when we sold him to Swansea, but we bought him back so it didn’t work.
