Accrington Stanley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performances by Marek Rodak in the scoreless draw with Blackpool and then the one nil victory over Crawley Town in the weekend’s Easter double header was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Rodak was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Rodak didn’t concede a goal over the Easter period, helping Accrington extend their unbeaten run to 15 games and remain in the hunt for a place in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs. The Slovak stopper saved a penalty in Good Friday’s draw with Blackpool, before keeping out Crawley Town in Monday’s 1-0 win.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Rodak for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
