ACCRINGTON STANLEY have confirmed that they have this morning recieved a £75,000 bid from fellow League Two side Shrewsbury Town.

Mullin is Stanley’s top scorer so far this season, scoring 11 times in 26 starts for the reds. The strong striker is also Stanley’s leading appearance maker, braking the record towards the end of last season.

Shrewsbury gaffer Gary Peters is believed to have made a bid in the region of £75,000 for the 33-year-old vice captain, and it all comes weeks before Stanley look set to enter in to contract negotiations with the hitman.

‘We’ve had interest in Paul from various clubs over the years, and we’ve informed Paul of the offer we’ve had, but we’re hoping he will stay with us.’ said Stanley chief executive Rob Heys speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph.

‘He’s done so in the past but we have talks for a new contract scheduled with Paul and we’re hoping he remains committed to us.

‘He’s a key member of the squad and a very good player.’
