ACCRINGTON Stanley chairman Eric Whalley has today admitted that the club are close to signing two new players.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Whalley admitted that a striker, who had scored 28 non-league goals last term, and a centre half with SPL experience are having medicals with Stanley in the coming days.

‘By the end of this week we should know more, but they’re both experienced players.’ Said Whalley to the Lancashire Telegraph.

‘(The defender) has had an operation in the close season and the striker scored a lot of goals in non league last year.’

It is rumoured that the striker is Garreth Seddon, who of course is a local player.
