Accrington Stanley continued to fight away from the relegation drop zone with another impressive home win. After last weeks ‘six pointer’ win over Torquay United, John Coleman’s side brushed Hereford United aside with ease.

Stanley opened the scoring through David Brown, who smashed the ball in to the top corner from 25 yards out to beat Hereford ‘keeper Wayne Brown. Shaun Whalley set up the goal with a fantastic pick out pass.

Peter Cavanagh made it two goals in two, and both are from free-kicks. A foul by Hereford defender Tamika Mkandawire presented Cavanagh with the chance to show off his skills. This time his free-kick found the bottom right hand corner from 20 yards.

Goalscorer David Brown saw red late on for a professional foul on Danny Thomas. The red card is likely to rule him out for up to 3 games.

So three points for Stanley, three vital points, so now we just have to hope we can continue with this burst of form, well, I say burst of form, it’s two wins in a row.

It’s internationals now, so watch out for pre-match and full time reports on England’s vital clash in Israel.
