ACCRINGTON Stanley have moved into eight place in Coca-Cola League Two after a Jimmy Ryan wondergoal, seven minutes from time, secured all three points.

Morecambe took the lead through David Artell early in the first half, but Bobby Grant strook just after the half hour mark to bring the Reds level at the Crown Ground.

The story of the game was replicated again in the second half as Artell got on the end of a cross to put the Shrimpers back into the lead, but again Grant pulled John Coleman’s side level with a sublime free kick.

But it was Ryan who rifled home a volley as the full time whistle grew close and gives Stanley a vital win, their seventh win in eight games.

Accrington sit a place and three points adrift of the Play-Off spots, but remain with three games in hand.
