Stanley travel to Torquay for this afternoon’s League 2 match. The pressure will be off the Reds as a play off spot is almost certainly out of reach and their League 2 status is more or less guaranteed for next season.
Skipper Luke Joyce who was sent off in the home fixture against The Gulls back in December will be looking to add to his 3 goals so far this season. It was a bizarre sending off with Joyce being ‘bear hugged’ by Gulls defender Mark Ellis. When Joyce tried to push the Torquay man off the referee deemed it to be a punch. Unfortunatly the incident wasn’t caught on camera so they had little grounds for appealing against the decision.

The referee for the match is Keith Stroud from Hampshire. This is his 35th match of the season and so far he has handed out 117 yellow cards and 6 reds.

Match Prediction:

Not an easy one for the Reds, though with the pressure off i can see them taking an early lead. However Stanley have been unable to hold onto leads away from home recently and The Gulls are in form and looking to better their play off final achievements of last season so i see them winning by a 2 goal margin.
