Stanley Ladies suffered another defeat at home against Padiham on Sunday.
After holding the away side for 20 minutes it was Stanley who looked the stronger and were catching them on the break but were lacking the finishing touches.
Stanley went 2-0 down at the break from the penalty spot and another a shot from 20 yards out.
After a lacklustre start to the 2nd-half Stanley’s heads dropped and they suffered severely from the very strong Padiham counter-attacks which unfortunately worked a treat for them scoring the majority of the remaining goals on the counter.
The girls have only been together as a squad for 8 weeks, so there is still time to remedy the situation and with a local derby away at Pendle Forest next Sunday at 2pm on Prairie Playing Fields in Burnley who knows what could happen, miracles cannot happen overnight!

Still a big improvement on the last match though? Do you get full support from the club?
Yes we do we are fully supported and play in the kits of the official Accrington Stanley men’s side. It is hoped that in the future the set-up will rival those in the higher leagues. It is just taking a bit longer for the girls to settle as a squad, once they do they should be fine! They have their own sponsorship deal for the shirts but their Chairman is still the same Chairman as the men’s team, which is great. They also have great support from the Stanley Supporter’s Club which is of great use to them. [Edited by parade]
Thats good to know. Good luck Stanley Ladies. I look forward to the next update.
I think it is great that your site recognises and reports on the ladies matches… they are part of th eclub and deserve recognition as such……………..
