ACCRINGTON Stanley have signed former Shrewsbury Town and Liverpool midfielder Jimmy Ryan according to an article that Stanley’s assistant manager Jimym Bell wrote in the Lancashire Telegraph.

The 19-year-old started off his career with Liverpool, and soon won the FA Youth Cup with the Merseysiders in both 2006 and 2007.

Ryan is a well established midfielder for Ireland’s International Youth side winning numerous caps and would be a fantastic signing for the Reds.

He also has a great strike on him and is well known in Liverpool for his ‘Steven Gerrard like shots’, as he can strike and score with great precision from distance.

He moved to Shrewsbury on loan in 2006, but only made one appearance in a one month loan spell, but a year later following his release from Liverpool made the switch to Shrewsbury permanent.

Liverpool describe Jimmy as ‘A good central midfielder with a great engine and an eye for a pass.’

But the deal has not yet been confirmed by Accrington Stanley, with the only fact in the deal being that it was Stanley’s Assistant that had published the news saying that he had signed.
