ACCRINGTON Stanley last night beat the midnight tansfer deadline to snap up Ross County’s Northern Irish defender Simon Webb on a free transfer.

Webb, 22, moves to East Lancashire after only managing to make to make eight first team appearances last season after moving to County from St. Johnstone.

The Norn Iron born centre back started out his career as a trainee with Ross County, before moving on to St. Johnstone but after a year with them he opted to move back to County.

The defender can’t make his Stanley bow against Peterborough at the Fraser Eagle this afternoon as Stanley are yet to recieve International clearance.

Welcome to Accrington Simon.
