ACCRINGTON Stanley take on Coca-Cola League One outfit Oldham Athletic at the Fraser Eagle Stadium this evening, looking to advance in to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Second Round.

The match build up has been over shadowed by building press reports that Stanley could be going out of buisness due to the sale of only 118 Adult season tickets.

But tonight the spotlight s firmly on The Fraser Eagle Stadium for tonight’s clash.

Accrington Stanley Team News:

Stanley hit rock bottom on Saturday afternoon after a third consecutive league defeat. The game also threw up a few selection problems as Graham Branch and Jay McEvilly both saw red in the game.

McEvilly was dismissed for a deliberate stamp on Peterborough’s Jamie Day, whilst Branchy was made to make the long walk back to the dressing room because of a second yellow card that followed a late challenge.

Stanley only have one injury doubt for the game, with Captain Peter Cavanagh doubtful through a calf strain. Paul Mullin is set to captain the side again this evening.

Player to watch: Paul Mullin

Paul Mullin will be a massive threat to the Oldham Athletic defence this evening is he is given the opportunity to get in to the penalty area unmarked. He is a great headerer of the ball and is also deadly with his foot from inside the area.

Oldham Athletic Team News:

Oldham are missing former Burnley forward Michael Ricketts from the trip to East Lancashire with a groin injury whilst Stuart Giddings, Stefan Stam, Deane Smalley, Lewis Alessandra and Neil Kilkenny all miss out through some form of injury.

Oldham’s last trip to East Lancashire saw them crash out of the Carling Cup at Turf Moor as Burnley beat them with a scoreline of 3-0.

Player to watch: Craig Davies

Welsh International Craig Davies will be a massive threat to Kenny Arthur in the Accrington Stanley goal after he signed from Italian outfit Verona.

Match Prediction:

Stanley 2-1 Oldham. A Paul Mullin double will put the game to bed.
