ARE you a football agent? Got a client looking to play for Accrington Stanley? Well I hope you don’t want any agents fees, because it is not going to happen!

The latest yearly Football League figures have shown that Accrington Stanley are one of eleven npower League Two teams not to pay any agents fees whatsoever, the second season on the bounce.

The figures are taken from between July 1st 2009 and June 30th 2010, and shows that agents fees in League Two totalled £366,781, with last seasons Champions Notts County spending well over £250,000 of that figure.

Football League chairman Greg Clarke voiced his concern at the latest Football League figures which show that over the three npower Football Leagues, spending on agents fees has risen from £8.8million to £12.7million.

‘Given the current economic climate, it is worrying to see such a significant amount leaking from the game.’ said Clarke.

‘This year’s figures demonstrate a considerable increase on those of last season and it is essential that clubs work to reduce this liability over the coming campaign.’
