ACCRINGTON Stanley Supporters Fund LTD Chairman Peter Shaw has this evening issued the following statement.

Our organisation is delighted that Accrington Stanley Football Club have been granted, in the High Court, eight weeks in which to pay £308,000 of outstanding unpaid tax to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, rather than an immediate winding up order.
We gave to the Club, ahead of the hearing, an offer in writing of substantial financial assistance which would help them meet these tax liabilities.

Conditional to this was that the Club would answer ‘due diligence’ questions, and the Directors move to make a script share offer which the Supporters’ Fund would underwrite.
This offer remains on the table.

The Supporters’ Fund is committed to helping Accrington Stanley stay as a successful team within the Football League.
