ACCRINGTON STANLEY’S Reserve string will play four less fixtures next season, with the news that two sides have dropped out of the league.
Both Chester City and relegated Wrexham have opted against entering a team into the Pontins Division One (West) for the 2008/09 season, meaning with only ten teams in the league, only 18 games can be played.
Still participating in the league with Accrington Stanley though will be Premiership team Manchester City, along with Championship neighbours Burnley, Preston North End and Blackpool.
There will also be Bury, Carlisle United, Morecambe, Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers taking part in the league.
Last season Accrington finished bottom of the Reserve league table, with just 17 point from their 22 games which included five wins. Morecambe were last years winners.
