WELL here we are again. A week ago I was living it large on a beach surrounded by palm trees with the sun beaming down on me, not bad to say I went to Scotland eh?

Of course in reality the palm trees were more like twigs that were washed up on the Ayr beach, and the sun shining down was more like rain falling down.

I returned on Saturday after the delay in Glasgow airport, and here we are back in Lancashire, so I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Vital Football staff for keeping the site ticking over in my absence.

After Stanley’s win at Port Vale I hadn’t been looking forward to a game at the Fraser Eagle Stadium more than I was for the Macclesfield, then I realised… Damn! I’m going to Scotland on Saturday. So as soon as we landed in the land of Jocks (yes we couldn’t be bothered to drive), I got the old phone out to find that Stanley had won 2-0 and that young Jimmy Ryan had scored his first goal for the club.

I didn’t know that we had signed West Brom youngster David Worrall on loan either, and I haven’t seen it anywhere else because it was over a week ago, so again thankyou to Vital for publishing the story, or it would have been one that I would have missed.

Defeat at Gillingham followed though, but we can’t be too down over that can we? After all, they are the best team in the division in my opinion.

Oh well, it feels good to be back in a way, and it is deadline day so can John Coleman seal some last minute deals? Heard any rumours? Send them to us at martynrobbo@vitalfootball.co.uk
