31 year old striker Danny Webber has put pen to paper on a 12 month deal at Accrington after impressing James Beattie during a trial spell.

Speaking to the Official Site after penning the deal, he said.

‘First and foremost since I’ve been here I’ve enjoyed it. That’s a major factor in me being here. There are a good set of lads here and I’m excited to play for the boss. I think that good things are happening here, the DNA of the club seems to be on the up and I’m excited to be part of it.’

Webber obviously knows the gaffer well from their playing days together at Sheffield United, so he joins with no illusions as to what will be expected of him as one of the more senior lads at the club.

Webber will wear the number 9 shirt for the coming season.
