Laurence Wilson has backed Stanley to beat the drop and beat his former side Morecambe.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, the defender says that Stanley can take a lot of heart from our late goals recently as not only does it show we carry enough of a threat to pick up maximum points, but also it shows we are going right to the end of games and giving our all in them.

‘It shows that we have not given up in any game. That was another two points gained, and hopefully they will all add up.’

Wilson says it will be strange facing off against Morecambe after making more than 100 appearances for them, but there’s no room for sentiment in a relegation battle.

‘Jim is a friend, I played with him when I was there and he was good enough to let me train with them before Leam offered me the chance to come and play here. Everyone wants to stay in the league and it seems it will go down to the last day. It’s about saving jobs, not just the players.’
