Former Sunderland goalkeeper Ben Wilson has joined the club as a free agent and signed a short term deal.

Speaking to the Official Site the 21 year old explained.

‘I’ve been a free agent all summer after spending the last 11 years at Sunderland. Unfortunately they didn’t renew my contract and finding a new club has been very hard. Accrington rang last Sunday and offered me the chance to come down for a trial and a game, unfortunately we lost 3-0 which as a goalkeeper you don’t tend to think is a very good game, but the manager and Paul Stephenson said they thought I’d done well.’

Wilson is in the squad for tomorrow’s game against Cheltenham and he’s been handed the No 30 shirt.
