Accrington Stanley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Josh Windass in the two all draw with Morecambe at the weekend at the Crown Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Windass was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Two goals for Windass kept Accrington in the hunt for automatic promotion, although they slipped out of Sky Bet League 2`s top three following a draw with Morecambe. A goal in either half saw Stanley turn around a one-goal deficit, before being pegged back late on by the Shrimps.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Windass for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

Alex Revell (MK Dons), Alex Baptiste (Sheffield United), Andy Butler (Doncaster Rovers), Paul Robinson (Wimbledon), George Boyd (Burnley), Jon Taylor (Peterborough United), Josh Windass (Accrington Stanley), Luke Williams (Scunthorpe United), Jordan Rhodes (Middlesbrough), Joe Pigott (Luton Town), Tomer Hemed (Brighton).
