And so the youngsters look to be in line for their first team bows this weekend. Both defenders had featured heavily whilst onloan at the Cables, and Coleman feels the duo are ready to take the step up.

Last week Bell and Murphy were offered professional contracts with Accrington along with Andrew Smith and Chris Turner, they follow young snappy winger Robert Grant who impressed in last seasons game at MK Dons.

Speaking about the youngsters being offered deals, Stanley manager John Coleman said ‘We’re absolutely delighted to be able to be offering contracts to these lads who have all worked hard in the two years they have been with us.

‘Its a great testament to Phil Hackney who has set up the programme from scratch, and is encouraging news for the future of Accrington Stanley.’
