Burnley Under 18s vs Accrington Stanley Under 18s
Football League Youth Alliance
Gawthorpe Training Ground | 11:00am kick off
ACCRINGTON Stanley’s Under 18s will travel to local neighbours Burnley on Saturday morning, in what will be a tasty local derby at Gawthorpe.
Phil Hackney’s boys started their 2010/11 Football League Youth Alliance season off in fine style last weekend, beating Bury by one goal to nil and will be looking to build on that against the Clarets.
Former Burnley Centre of Excellence left back, Joe Wilkinson, is likely to miss out against his former team mates though after picking up a knock deep into added time at Shawbridge against Bury on Saturday.
Stanley are boosted with news that Marcus Carver, Karl Dailey and Ryan Hopper should be available for selection following injuries.
Carver and Dailey both featured in the season opener, but were doubts after picking up injuries during the game, but they have now been cleared fit to play, while Hopper should make his first appearance of the season following an allergic reaction to antibiotics he was taking for a foot infection.
However former Centre of Excellence skipper Jack Sargent will miss out as he nurses a leg injury that he picked up during a pre-season friendly.
