Rob Atkinson has said that Accrington Stanley are scared of nobody following our FA Cup win over Notts County in midweek.

Having over come the League One high flyers, Atkinson knows it was the perfect way to bounce back from our disappointing result to Carlisle last weekend and speaking to the Official Site he explained that everybody was buzzing to be through to the next round of the Cup, but now we focus on getting ourselves back on track in the league.

‘Tuesday was a massive win. It was a great result for us, not just the financial side but as players as we wanted to bounce back after the result on Saturday. It was disappointing and we wanted to make amends. The next round is a great opportunity to put our wits against another League One side and we will face them (Yeovil) full of confidence and hopefully we will get through and get a good draw in round three. Now it’s about the league.’

Shifting the focus to this weekend’s encounter with Cambridge United, Atkinson goes on to say that everybody knows they are a decent team and they have been on a good run of form and results themselves of late so nobody would be underestimating them, but we do go into the game looking to overcome the challenge that they will pose and pick up a victory again.

‘In this league, any team who goes on a run of results and gets some consistency can make a push for the play offs. If we had beat Carlisle we would have been within touching distance but we are still up there and now we need to push on.’
