FORMER ACCRINGTON STANLEY midfielder Romauld Boco, is due to fly to Ireland this weekend to conclude his transfer to Sligo Rovers, currently managed by former Stanley man Paul Cook.

Boco saw his contract with Accrington terminated by mutual consent on his return to East Lancashire from the African Cup of Nations, where the midfielder come striker had been captaining his country, Benin.

Cook pounced on his man following his release, starting negotiations with Boco on the evening of his departure.

“I didn`t think I`d get him, I thought that he`d be out of our reach but, thankfully we`ve secured him. I don`t want to put pressure on him, but I`m certain that the fans will see that he is the real deal and with the other signings that we`ve made, I believe that we`re in for a very exciting season.’ Cook told the Official Sligo website.

Good luck Rommy and Good luck Sligo.
