Coleman: We Can Improve

Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman has admitted that he never doubted his side’s ability to beat Nottingham Forest in the first round of the Carling Cup. In an interview with the Lancashire Evening Telegraph he said.

‘Every time I put a side out I believe we can win and if we played Manchester United tomorrow I’d be going out with a game plan to try to win the game. Because, otherwise, why take part in the game if you’re not going to stand up and be counted?’

Even though Accrington completed a historic victory over League One side Forest, Coleman still doesn’t believe his side played to the best of their ability.

‘I still don’t think we played anywhere near like we can,’

Coleman went on to say, ‘I know we made chances and I know I’ve got to be happy with a clean sheet but I still think we can maybe control the game and pass the ball better.

‘We had opportunities to go and hurt them and we didn’t do that enough.’

But all in all if we can play like that against teams such as Nottingham Forest
And still win I will be happy.
