RUMOURS this morning suggest that Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman could be a potential target for npower Championship side Preston North End, following Darren Ferguson’s dismissal on Wednesday.

Coleman and his assistant Jimmy Bell have recently penned new long term deals at the Crown Ground, but the pull of a higher leagued club would almost certainly turn the duo’s heads.

The Reds’ first team coach Mark Patterson also believes that Coleman is destined for bigger things, in an interview with the Lancashire Telegraph, he revealed: “John (Coleman) is a really intelligent man and I think he will move on soon,”

“There will come a point when he moves up and he will deserve it because he has done such a good job.”

Also in the running for the Preston job are names such as Paul Jewell, Iain Dowie, Peter Reid and the new favourite Brian Laws, who was sacked by local neighbours Burnley just hours before the North End position also came available.
