Stanley boss John Coleman has completed the permanent signing of Shaun Whalley from non-leaguers Witton Albion.

Whalley joined The Reds on-loan back in November and has played a part in the clubs, First Team and Reserve Team.

The 19 year-old, ex-Chester City winger chose to play for Accrington Stanley after snubbing a move to Coca-Cola League One side Crewe Alexandra.

Whalley has signed a two-year contract at The Fraser Eagle Stadium.

‘It’s all confirmed now and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop over the next couple of years,’ said Accrington Stanley chief executive Robert Heys.
