Oxford striker Asa Hall scored a brace against Accrington last night to keep up their push for a play off spot. His first came from a loose ball which he hammered in from 12 yards out on 41 minutes. His second came on 72 minutes when he headed in from close range. In between both goals Stanley had chances from Bobby Grant and Padraig Amond who both brought lively saves from the Oxford keeper.Stanley looked jaded at the back last night with them missing key players in defence and the almost certain realisation that the play off spot achievement of last season will not be repeated this term.
Last night’s crowd of 1408 was disappointing. If the match had been played on the scheduled Saturday in February the attendance would have been much higher as Oxford were reporting at the time that they intended to bring about 700 fans to the Crown Ground.
